The importance of the Endocannabinoid System

Dear Team:

The below referenced article will get lots of attention, however, it is NOT an article discussing the negative effects of cannabis, rather it infers the beneficial effects of cannabis and the amazing importance of the Endocannabinoid System. This is an example of a pharmaceutical company trying to interfere with mother nature and trying to synthetically produce a product that will help the body pool THC. If a patient can ingest the plant, there is no need for this synthetic drug; it is another example of a company attempting to synthetically recreate the plant’s miraculous genetics. Can we synthetically produce a human? No! And we cannot re-produce the cannabis plant either!.

This article confirms the importance of the Endocannabinoid System:

The Pharma company, Bial, has been developing compounds that inhibit an Endocannabinoid – degrading enzyme called FAAH, in order to increase brain levels of cannabinoids, as an anti-depressant or a pain reliever (i.e.: normal levels of brain cannabinoids keep pain and depression away!!)

This article confirms why pharmaceutical companies shouldn’t interfere with our natural

Endocannabinoid System:

After just two days of this synthetic drug that interrupted the natural Endocannabinoid System, patients became brain injured;

Dr. Deb Kimless agrees that if these patients had received natural phytocannabinoids after the injury, the cannabis could alleviate symptoms and possibly reverse some damage; IN ADDITION, HAD THE COMPANY SIMPLY GIVEN THE TRIAL PATIENTS CANNABIS IN THE FIRST PLACE, it would have increased their Endocannabinoid production and removed the need for a synthetic drug that attempts to artificially increase cannabinoids in our system.

As Dr. Kimless put it:

Bial targeted FAAH (bia 10 2474), which is an enzyme that breaks down anandamide(the THC-like molecule in our body). Fooling with Mother Nature is dangerous. Also, isolating single cannabinoids may be dangerous as well. FAAH inhibition is one of the ways CBD works. When CBD inhibits FAAH, it pools the THC, which is why CBD-only products work too. But when a company isolates one molecule, it is forgetting the other 800 bioactive chemicals in the plant that are completing other actions
